About Lorenzo Dunning

I began blogging in 2006 on the prestigious MySpace website under my stage name, Lorenzo Dunning, which eventually became my pen name, also. My first blog featured commentaries on news, politics, social issues and pop culture…sometimes expressed in a humorous and satirical way; sometimes expressed in a serious tone. During my tenure at MySpace, I attracted more than 400 subscribers to my blog and earned the Spalding Award for Brilliance in Blogging.*

I am a psychotherapist and, under my real name, I write professionally on mental health topics for various websites, some of which are considered “content farms.” My goal is to write full-time and practice psychotherapy part-time, as I believe that I can help the greatest number of people through my writing.

The title of this blog, 20 Years Ago Today, was taken, of course, from the Beatles’ “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” The theme of the blog is obvious. I post blog entries about what was happing 20 years ago, but I write about them as if they are currently happening. If you’re old enough to remember these events, enjoy this (hopefully funny) walk down Memory Lane. If you’re young(er), this blog might help you understand why your parents are the way they are.

*Okay, okay! There is no Spalding Award. I made it up.
